MORTIFICATION: New Concert Date Announced
July 4, 2004Australian Christian metallers MORTIFICATION have scheduled an "over 18" "Brain Cleaner" album launch party on Friday, July 30 at The Arthouse in Melbourne. Also appearing will be MEDUSA and CATWITCH.
As previously reported, MORTIFICATION are confirmed to play a concert in Mexico City on November 20 with SAVIOUR MACHINE, NARNIA and EXOUSIA (previously announced headliners STRYPER appear to have pulled out of the gig). Also confirmed is a November 23 headlining gig in Sao Paulo, Brazil. More information will be made available soon.
MORTIFICATION's twelfth studio album, "Brain Cleaner" was recently issued through the Rowe Productions label. The follow-up to 2002's "Relentless" is said to be "the heaviest project the band has recorded in 10 years" and is being described as "a lot more of a death metal/grind-orientated album but with plenty of power and thrash metal mixed in to keep it interesting and multi-dimensional."
"Brain Cleaner" marks the recording debut with the group of drummer Mike Forsberg (ex-CYBERGRIND),who replaced Adam Zaffarese last year. Artwork was once again handled by Troy Dunmire ("Primitive Rhythm Machine", "Envision Evangeline", "Triumph of Mercy", "Relentless"),but "Brain Cleaner" represents his "most adventurous" piece to date, according to the group. MORTIFICATION's lineup is completed by Steve Rowe on bass/vocals and Mick Jelinic on guitar.
